About us

【About SEDS】

SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) is a non-profit that empowers young people to participate in the space sector. Its main activities are dispatching students to conferences and hosting competitions. It was founded as a chapter-based organization in 1980 at MIT, Princeton University, and Yale University. Today, there are chapters in over 10 countries worldwide.

Activities

1) Dispatch to conferences
We provide students with the opportunity to network with industry professionals in space and its surrounding sectors, by dispatching them to conferences.
Our past dispatches include:
・IAA Planetary Defense Conference
・Y-ISEF (Youth International Space Exploration Forum)

 

2) Professional Development Workshops
We provide students with the opportunity to develop their professional skills through workshops.
Our past workshops include:
・Networking training
・Expert lectures

 

3) Space-themed events
We host fun space-themed events to explore and have fun with space!
Our past events include:
・Space art workshops
・Movie nights
・Space board game nights
